FAQ
Q: What should I wear?
A: The dress code is semi-formal. With that in mind, your comfort is the highest priority. We encourage you to have fun with your attire! The circles at the top right represent the spring insprired color palette. Bring your prints, textures, sequins, and beads to our wedding disco. 🪩 Be sure to be weather aware that week and bring layers.
Q: What should I pack? Is the party outdoors or indoors?
A: For those staying on site at Glamping Retro, you may want to bring some camping things like a chair, headlamp, or blankets, but the campground should be pretty comfortable and is essentially turnkey. The venue hosts said guests like to bring their hammocks. The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors—the ceremony will be open air and the reception will be under an awning. There are dress guidelines in a previous FAQ. Heaters and fire pits are on the porches of the reception area.
Q: Can I bring my child or a plus one?
A: We love your children! Due to space restrictions we cannot accommodate guests under the age of 18 on our wedding day. For plus ones: if your invitation includes a plus one, it is noted on your invitation.
Q: What if we have dietary restrictions?
A: Please text Andrew or Jess with any dietary restrictions—especially if you eat a gluten-free diet.
Q: Is there a rehearsal dinner?
A: Our rehearsal dinner will be held after 6:30p at Glamping Retro. We’ll eat dinner and enjoy each other’s company until quiet hours at 10pm. All guests are welcome.
Q: Can we bring our own food and drink if we’re staying at the venue?
A: Yes. Snacks and a lunch is recommended. We will have basic cold drinks and water. Dinner and a light breakfast are provided Friday and Saturday. Guests will provide their own lunch and any specific snacks or drinks they prefer. There are a couple of vending machines on site.
On-site guests can bring their own alcohol for drinking outside of the recpetion hours. During the reception all drinks must be provided by the bartender.
Q: Is there parking at the venue? What’s the address?
A: Yes. There is ample parking at Glamping Retro for all guests. Find the parking attendant at 2394 Spivey Mountain Rd, Erwin, TN 37650.
Q: Will there be transportation available?
A: Generally, no. Since the venue is in a remote area, rideshare and taxi may not be reliable. You’ll want to arrange transportation to and from Glamping Retro for the rehearsal dinner and wedding if you are staying offsite.
Q: Is there an open bar?
A: Yes—with an open bar we ask that you drink responsibly. We’ll have mocktails available as non-alcoholic refreshments.
Q: How do I know if I’m staying on-site at Glamping Retro?
A: Lodging at the venue accommodates the couple and around 23 guests. Invitations will arrive by Valentine’s day and will include a card labeled ‘the skinny’ that directs to this site. If your card has printed backing, you are staying on site at Glamping Retro. If your card has a solid backing, you will secure your own lodging off site.
